Cliff Castle Casino Hotel Presents an AllDay Event Saturday November 18 2023 - The Gathering 10am - 4pm. Emcee Thomas Beauty will start the event at 10am with the Burnette Crown Dancers. At 11am, The Jones Benally Family will perform their Traditional Navajo Dances. At 1pm, the Bird Singers and Dancers will take the stage. Bird Songs are sung for those who have passed, and they are sung during a traditional wake from dusk till dawn. The songs are sung to help the spirit cross over to the other side of everlasting life. Today, many of these ancient songs are still included in traditional ceremonies.
